Shopify’s introduction of Checkout Extensibility for in-checkout pages eliminates and fully disables affiliate channel tracking. In response, Partnerize developed an easily-implemented solution that ensures accurate, persistent affiliate tracking for Shopify users integrated via the Shopify app–no reliance on your development team required!
Failure to make the app update will result in a loss of affiliate tracking. It is critical that you complete the Shopify app update as soon as possible to continue accurately tracking affiliate activity.
Implementing the update safeguards affiliate tracking and gives you access to the benefits of Shopify’s Checkout Extensibility. Get started by:
- Implementing the change to your Shopify app. Check out the step-by-step instructions for implementing persistent affiliate tracking which can be easily completed within your account. To make the required change, begin by checking “Enable Non-Native Currency Support” (step 5) and then proceed to step 9 of the integration guide.

Communicating with our Integration Team. Once you've implemented the change, please contact our team to verify that the update is complete:
- First, send a screenshot of the full Pepperjam app page from your Shopify admin to ascend.support@partnerize.com so we can ensure the settings are configured properly. From there, our Integration team will validate that the app update is configured properly.
- Next, once our Integration team has validated the app configuration is correct, you must perform a test transaction by:
- Navigating to the Test Tracking tab in Ascend™ and clicking the blue “Publisher Test Link - CLICK HERE to Test Pixel” button. Then, complete a test transaction.
- After completing the test transaction, please provide a screenshot of the order confirmation page so that our team can confirm that your Shopify app is tracking effectively.
