Managing Generic Link and Destination URL Parameters

An advertiser’s Generic Link is typically their website’s primary URL; it is also one of the most commonly used creatives in the affiliate space.

To locate your Generic Link, navigate to Creatives > Generic. Here, advertisers can view their Generic Link, set deep linking, and view destination URL parameters.

Deep linking allows partners to change where traffic can be directed within an advertiser’s domain. If enabled, partners can adjust tracking links to direct traffic to specific category or product pages that fit the needs of their audience.

Your destination URL parameters contains the string of data that appends to all creative links from a program. It’s important for advertisers to ensure that their destination URL parameters are formatted to accurately track within their analytics platform. At minimum, it’s suggested that advertisers track the traffic source, campaign, and medium. A click ID parameter must be included in the destination URL parameters.
